A Space That's Yours

Booking a hire at our whare wānanga gives you exclusive access to the entire space, giving you the privacy and freedom for your gathering. The space features ample natural light, plenty of space for breakout areas, and modern facilities that are suited to both intimate and extended gatherings.

It’s a perfect spot for any kaupapa that requires a generous recreational area, such as offsite meetings, group facilitation sessions, and children’s birthday parties.

Recreational Area

Our recently renovated whare wānanga comes together in the open plan recreational area, with plenty of space to seat up to 40 people, depending on the layout. Complete with a projector and whiteboard, it is a spacious choice designed for group facilitations and retreats that require ample space.

Commercial Kitchen

The fully equipped commercial kitchen is included with every hire, offering everything you need for catering on site. Facilities include a double-door fridge, deep freezer, gas stovetop, industrial oven, double-basin sink, dishwasher, toaster, hot water zip, plus a full range of cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, and serving platters. Just bring your own catering and you’re set.

Courtyard

Featuring a generous lawn framed by an established garden, the courtyard offers additional space for visitors to spread out throughout the day. Ideal for breakout discussions, shared meals or simply enjoying time outdoors between scheduled activities, the space is complemented by ample onsite parking just footsteps from the lawn.

Wharemoe

The wharemoe is a spacious, open-plan sleeping area designed to comfortably accommodate up to 40 people. Mattresses and bedding are provided, making it ready for group use across retreats, camps, and overnight stays. The layout is flexible and suited to a variety of group configurations, offering a simple, shared area for rest.

Wharekai

The dining area seats up to 40 people and sits within a space shaped by decades of use, giving it a grounded, familiar character. It can be set up for grazing or buffet-style catering and works just as well for conversation, informal networking, quiet breaks between sessions, or as an extra breakout area.

The Neighbourhood

Located in Waitati, the venue is set within a small coastal township north of Dunedin. The area is known for its easy access to natural environments, with nearby walking tracks, native bush, and the coastal edge all within reach. It offers groups the chance to step away from the intensity of the city while still being a short drive from Dunedin, making it practical as well as peaceful.
